Katikati Students Build Public Speaking Confidence with iSpeak Trust
Senior students from Katikati College have taken part in a public speaking skills course this month, delivered by the iSpeak Trust with funding provided by the Wright Family Foundation. The programme is designed to help senior secondary students grow their confidence and find their own voice when addressing groups of peers or adults.
Participants worked through everything from fun impromptu speeches on quirky topics through to delivering and polishing prepared presentations. Facilitators and fellow students provided feedback throughout, and organisers noted visible improvement across all participants as the course progressed.
The course has also been delivered at Tauranga Boys' College and Mount Maunganui College. It is open to all senior high school students, and those wishing to find out more or arrange a course can contact Gaye Stratton on 021 778 810 or visit the iSpeak Trust website.
