New Language for Waihī Beach Library Emphasizes Community Values

The new library and community hub in Waihī Beach has received a meaningful name, Te Ara Mātauranga, reflecting its role in fostering knowledge and connection.

This naming, gifted by Te Whānau a Tauwhao, acknowledges the library's significance as a communal resource. The initiative represents over three years of collaboration among locals to create a space for learning and gathering.

The library is set to open in July and will incorporate design elements that connect it to local culture and environment. Community leaders emphasize the importance of such spaces for fostering unity and support among residents.
