Katikati Jazz Street Party Returns to Main St This Saturday
Katikati's beloved Jazz Street Party is swinging back into town on Saturday 28 March as part of Tauranga's 2026 jazz festival. Hosted by KatchKatikati with support from the Tauranga Western Bay Community Event Fund, the free event runs from 10am to 2pm across three locations on Main St — The Arts Junction, Cherry Court, and the Western Bay Museum.
KatchKatikati general manager Jacqui Knight said festival-goers can look forward to talented musicians who haven't previously played in Katikati, street performers, and a circus workshop open to everyone. The line-up includes Lara Band at Cherry Court, Caitriona Fallon and Jeff Barker Trio at The Arts Junction, and La Tina Trio and Ceviche Jam performing outside the Western Bay Museum.
Adding to the atmosphere will be family-friendly entertainment from Circus in a Flash, SkewWhiff, face painting, and games from Party in the Bay. A range of food trucks will be on site offering Thai, smashed strawberries, donuts, BBQ fare, and Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tamawhariua will have a tent serving seafood chowder and fry bread.
"This is a free event that provides a welcoming atmosphere and brings people together in the heart of Katikati," Knight said, encouraging everyone to get it on their calendars.
