Western Bay Wander Walk Series Wraps Up with Doggy Day Out at Ōmokoroa

The Western Bay of Plenty District Council's 2025–2026 Wander Walk series is coming to a close with a Doggy Day Out at Ōmokoroa Sportsgrounds on Saturday, 28 March. The free entry event runs from 10am to 2pm and is open to dogs and their owners, with plenty of activities on offer for the whole whānau.

Highlights include an Amateur Agility Competition, a Sniff & Seek Arena, a Woofstock dress-up competition, food and dog-themed stalls, plus face painting, a photo booth, and arts and crafts for the tamariki. Retired Western Bay animal services officer Betty Hall — who wrapped up a 35-year career in 2024 — will return to speak on 'Harmony in the Home' regarding dogs, while Katikati animal trainer Bex Tasker of Positively Together will share training tips. More information is available at westernbay.govt.nz/wanderdogs.
