Waihī Fundraising Challenge for New Ambulance Station

Hato Hone St John is urging Waihī residents to participate in a unique challenge to fund a new ambulance station. The campaign aims to raise $111,000 for the modern facility.

The new station on Johnston St will replace one built in the 1970s and will better meet earthquake safety standards. Local baker Kris Purden is baking 111 muffins to contribute to the effort. Participants are encouraged to set their own '111 Challenge', from running to walking.
