Katikati Celebrates Herb Awareness Month
Katikati Herb Society is promoting the healing properties of herbs this month. With a growing interest in natural remedies, they aim to educate the community on various herbs.
Herb Awareness Month in New Zealand focuses on chamomile, karamu, greater celandine, and globe artichoke. Society president Jenny Ager-Pratt says the rising cost of living has people looking to grow their own food and medicine. "People are more aware of herbs supporting their health," she mentioned.
Meetings are held every second Wednesday at St Paul’s Presbyterian Church, covering everything from identification to culinary uses.
