Affordable Housing Site Development Begins in Katikati

Construction has officially begun on a new affordable housing model for seniors at Abbeyfield, located on Wills Road, Katikati. Expected to be completed by year's end, the project aims to offer comfort and community.

Abbeyfield WBOP chairperson Carole Parker expressed satisfaction and relief as trucks rolled onto the site after years of hard work. This new facility will provide 14 seniors with studio accommodation, including ensuite facilities and communal meals.

Fundraising continues with events planned in 2025 to cover the final costs, providing an excellent opportunity for locals to contribute. Interested seniors can reach out for applications to live in this supportive environment.
