Cricket Match Promotes Farmer and Grower Wellbeing
Te Puke Cricket Club president Stephen Crossan started an annual farmer versus grower cricket game six years ago to promote the Farmstrong initiative, a nationwide wellbeing programme for the rural community. The game encourages farmers and growers to take time away from their farms and orchards to connect with like-minded people and have fun. Farmstrong offers practical tools and resources covering stress management, sleep, nutrition, fitness and rest scheduling. This year's match will be held at Te Puke Domain on Sunday, February 22, at 1pm, with kiwifruit company Seeka sponsoring the event to make it free for all players and spectators.
