Baygold Staff Give Back with Decade-Long Charity Tradition
Staff from Paengaroa orchardry company Baygold participated in their annual Kick Off Charity Day last Friday, supporting three community initiatives. Teams donned gloves to clean up Te Puke town centre, created meals for Kura Kai at Te Puke High School, and contributed to conservation efforts at Rotoehu Forest.
The charity day, which has been running for at least a decade, involves permanent, contracted and casual staff. Chief executive Carl Simmons joined the Rotoehu Forest conservation team, while other staff prepared frozen meals for families in need. Kura Kai is a charity that stocks freezers at local schools with nutritious family meals, helping to support struggling families in the community.
The initiative demonstrates Baygold's commitment to giving back during the kiwifruit season, combining team building activities with meaningful community support across multiple local causes.
