Actress Miriama Smith Stars at Katikati A&P Show Centenary
Well-known New Zealand actress Miriama Smith was among the notable faces who attended the Katikati A&P Show's 100th anniversary celebration, held on Sunday. She took on the role of MC and judge for the fashion parade, which was one of the most popular highlights of the day.
Smith is recognised for her roles in Shortland Street, Mercy Perk, and The Brokenwood Mysteries, among others. She has had a busy year with several acting projects, including the second season of TVNZ's murder mystery series The Gone, The Survivors on Netflix, and the comedy series Dead Ahead. She also works as a celebrant and acting teacher.
Thousands of community members turned out for the milestone event. The show has been a fixture on the local calendar for a century, with the committee noting that cancellations have been rare — limited to the Covid-19 pandemic and a small number of weather-related closures in more recent years.
