Bay of Plenty Regional Council to spray pest plants at Western Bay estuaries

The Bay of Plenty Regional Council has advised that it will carry out pest plant control spraying at several estuaries in the Western Bay area later this month. The herbicide Haloxyfop will be applied in small, isolated patches at Waiione Avenue–Athenree, the Uretara Estuary, Pahoia Estuary, Waimapu Estuary, and Waikareao Estuary, with access points including Hamilton Street, Ngāi Tamarawaho Crescent, and the Judea Rugby Club.

The spraying is scheduled to take place between 27 and 31 January, subject to suitable weather and tidal conditions. Residents with enquiries are encouraged to contact the council's Biosecurity Team on 0800 884 880.
